November 13, 2010 : Graffiti Justice… Take That H&M!
Graffiti artists on the CTA have proven to be humorous in the past. I found another such example:
As previously stated, I don’t usually approve of graffiti – but how can you argue with a Zoolander reference?
Speaking of which, Ben Stiller still claims to be working on a sequel to this incredibly underappreciated film – with the help of Justin Theroux. Theroux co-wrote Tropic Thunder with Stiller. So even more reason to want this film to get made.

November 8, 2010 : Halloween: Villain Style
It’s a little late, but here’s a few pics from Halloween – 2010.
So I went as the Joker – accompanied by the beautiful and devious Harley Quinn. I first got into Batman via Batman: The Animated Series. So it was only fitting to base my Joker off that series. Plus, I think it’s still a little too cliche to dress up as the Joker from the Dark Knight (the movie still rocks, though).
Unlike some previous years, just about everybody recognized who I went as. Sadly, not quite as many people got Harley’s costume – at least until they saw me next to her. But more people than not got it. It’s worth noting that I tried to make that bizarre smile for every picture I was in – something that felt both fun and creepy.
In addition to Harley Quinn, I also spent my night with Edward Nigma… aka The Riddler.
His costume was also pretty sweet. Too bad the Riddler won’t be in The Dark Knight Rises. I’m sure Christopher Nolan would have had some interesting spins on the character.

October 29, 2010 : New Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball creator, Akira Toriyama, has supposedly been talked into creating new material for the series. The story is pretty sparse with the details, but I am torn with the news.
Being a huge fan of DBZ, I can definitely get excited about the prospect of new Dragon Ball Manga (and no doubt anime to follow). However, DBZ was starting to sputter at the end – even with Toriyama involved. Dragon Ball GT didn’t have the creator and was awful. However, I think DBZ peaked during the Cell saga (which was awesome). The Buu saga was pretty disappointing, and I’m not sure how much better anything new would be.
Besides, there are countless questions as to the specifics of any new material. When would the story take place within the Dragon Ball universe? Who would be the main character(s)? How much stronger can the bad guys really get?
Ultimately, I would prefer Toriyama create an entirely new series. That would be more interesting to watch.

October 13, 2010 : Madhouse’s Supernatural Trailer
Madhouse Studios has been involved with countless anime projects – some notable ones include The Animatrix, Black Lagoon, and Reign: The Conqueror. While the storylines to some of their works disappoint (Paranoia Agent, Wicked City, and Metropolis) or are incredibly weird (cough, cough… Paprika), the animation is usually pretty solid.
Madhouse is currently working on an anime adaptation to the CW show, Supernatural. I’ve never watched the show even though it’s been on for six seasons – after all, the only CW show I watch is Gossip Girl. Anyway, the trailer looks pretty sweet.
The anime is to be released in Japan early next year. Who knows when it will be available in the U.S. – but common sense tells us that since it is based on an American show, it will be around sooner rather than later. And if the trailer is any indication, it can be one worth watching.
P.S. – You can never go wrong with playing Carry On Wayward Son during a trailer.

September 29, 2010 : Venture Bros Dragon-Con Panel
As expected, the new season of The Venture Bros. has been great. To add to the awesomeness, Adult Swim has linked up a Q&A panel with creators Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer.
It’s always fun to see the passionate fans of the show (nothing wrong with dressing up as characters from the show). Plus, Publick and Hammer are pretty entertaining themselves. Lastly, the clip is edited – which means the video doesn’t have those boring lulls between questions so it stays fun to watch.

September 15, 2010 : Crotches And Synchronized Watches
Adventure Time has been on the air for nearly six months – and is doing quite well. Now, it has found a programming partner in Regular Show.
Regular Show is a little more adult than some of Cartoon Network’s other prime time shows, but it does a great job complementing Adventure Time.
As a reminder, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Sym-Bionic Titan premieres this Friday at 8pm (Eastern) .

September 1, 2010 : God & Co.
Stephen and Joel Levinson created, wrote, and directed a few animated shorts called God & Co. The shorts aren’t bad. They have won several awards, and apparently they are pitching the idea around.
The really cool part about this is the backstory to the creation of these shorts. After writing the first script, these NYC brothers asked a few famous comedians to be in their short – comedians they didn’t know… and to do so without any compensation. The cool thing, was they all said yes.
The end result, a bunch of pretty funny people lending their voices. Leading the charge, is Jonathan Katz… starring as God. The shorts were also animated under the supervision of Ed Mundy (who has experience with Archer and Sealab 2021).
Needless to say, a pretty impressive cast and crew.

August 18, 2010 : Watch Out, Jack!
On a similar topic to my previous post, Topless Robot came out with a list of The 11 Greatest Episodes Of Samurai Jack.
As usual, lists like these are always up for debate, but it is still worth a read. There were definitely episodes I thoroughly enjoyed that were omitted, but the article begins with a poignant description of the show and its impact on animation.
Plus, reading about most of these episodes was a nice blast from the past.

August 11, 2010 : Sym-Bionic Jack… I Mean Titan
Genndy Tartakovsky is returning to Cartoon Network, and it will be next month. While I am not sure the exact date – his new show, Sym-Bionic Titan, premieres in September.
Being a huge fan of Samurai Jack and the original Star Wars: Clone Wars, hearing this definitely made my day. Plus, it stars John DiMaggio (Bender from Futurama) and Brian Posehn (the big guy from Mr. Show, The Sarah Silverman Program, and Mission Hill).
Seeing as how I just found out about Sym-Bionic (how did I not hear about this sooner?), I’ve decided not to learn much about the show. I want to go in fresh… fresh. So you’re on your own using Google to find clips.

August 5, 2010 : New Venture Bros Enroute
With new episodes of The Venture Bros right around the corner (September 12), Adult Swim released the trailer for the upcoming season.
As expected, it looks pretty sweet. Plus, four days after The Venture Bros’ season premiere, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia kicks off its sixth season.
That will be one kick ass week.
