September 16, 2014 : Production Bump For The New Season Of Rick And Morty
The new season of Rick and Morty, slated to air late this year/ early next, is currently in production. Apparently, there was a bit of a snag in the past week. The artist crew, feeling overworked and underpaid, unionized and ratified a new labor agreement – and at one point, threatened to walk out. Ultimately, things have been resolved; and while the artists seem to be pleased, it left a bad taste with co-creator Justin Roiland.
As with most disputes, I’m sure each side has their version. Ultimately, it appears everybody is ready to move on. Hopefully there won’t be any lingering friction that could negatively affect the quality of this season (or cause problems in future seasons). Rick and Morty is a solid show, and it would be a shame for it to derail because for these reasons.

March 8, 2014 : New Rick And Morty? Yes, Please.
Pleading ignorance here, but I thought the 6 episodes of Rick and Morty that aired this past December/ January comprised the first season of the series. I couldn’t have been more wrong – apparently rather than just being a short first season, this was just the front end of the order as the final five episodes begin this coming Monday.
I’m a fan of the show. It is sci-fi fun, with a solid cast and cool plots – and the creators have even stated they will avoid time travel (awesome!). Needless to say, I am stoked since I thought I’d have to wait until the second season to see new episodes. The show was renewed for another season back in December, which seems earlier than usual for Adult Swim (at least based on the timing associated with Venture Bros). So it’s good news all the way around.
