Warner Bros., who distributed the Japanese film, apparently wants to take a stab at it, and they have already <a title=\"It's the Lethal Weapon writer.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/2011\/01\/warner-bros-taps-shane-black-for-japanese-manga-death-note\/\" target=\"_blank\">signed on a director<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/DeathNote.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-715  aligncenter\" title=\"Delete! Shane Black, the director for this adaptation, has stated Death Note is his favorite manga.
