{"id":376,"date":"2009-11-24T13:10:57","date_gmt":"2009-11-24T19:10:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/news\/?p=376"},"modified":"2010-01-20T20:37:13","modified_gmt":"2010-01-21T02:37:13","slug":"uhh-what","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/news\/2009\/11\/uhh-what\/","title":{"rendered":"Uhh&#8230; What?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It came out a few years ago, but I finally got around to watching the film Paprika.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Paprika.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-377  aligncenter\" title=\"It gets weirder... much weirder.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Paprika-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"It gets weirder... much weirder.\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Paprika-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Paprika.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The animation and character design was very impressive, which also goes for <a title=\"It had promise.\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paranoia_Agent\" target=\"_blank\">Paranoia Agent<\/a> &#8211; director Satoshi Kon&#8217;s previous work. Agent&#8217;s problem, at least in my opinion, was that it moved too slowly. The story was definitely out there, and this could have been a good thing had it moved faster than the Frieza Saga.<\/p>\n<p>Paprika takes this bizarreness and kicks it up about five extra notches. By the end, the weirdness envelopes the movie so much that it makes <a title=\"Who names a main character Kaneda?\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Akira_(film)\" target=\"_blank\">Akira<\/a> and <a title=\"I still don't know what happened at the end.\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Neon_Genesis_Evangelion_(anime)\" target=\"_blank\">Evangelion<\/a> seem as convoluted as Sesame Street.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Towelie.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-378  aligncenter\" title=\"I have no idea what's going on.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Towelie-300x231.jpg\" alt=\"I have no idea what's going on.\" width=\"300\" height=\"231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Towelie-300x231.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Towelie.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All\u00c2\u00a0 in all, it wasn&#8217;t a waste of 90 minutes.
