Anyway, the answer to the title&#8217;s question is probably not; however there was Lightwave news last month nonetheless. Specifically, it was <a title=\"Well, this certainly came out of the blue\" href=\"https:\/\/www.avnetwork.com\/news\/vizrt-groups-lightwave-3d-sold-to-further-develop-the-3d-animation-system\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sold off to another party with the intent on &#8220;reinvigorating&#8221; the software<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/LW_Logo.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3254 size-medium\" title=\"Can't let go, I guess.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/LW_Logo-300x281.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/LW_Logo-300x281.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/LW_Logo-768x719.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.pivisuals.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/LW_Logo.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, I&#8217;m not sure much will come out of this, but I suppose anything&#8217;s possible. The bigger question is probably why is this still on my radar, and the answer is I haven&#8217;t had time to move onto a different package (aka Blender) &#8211; which leaves the door open for Lightwave. Until I have another (most likely personal) project where I need 3D software, I&#8217;m still keeping Lightwave around since I have an up to date version.
